Running West’s two events for 2022 have now been completed.
The June Campout was a fun weekend to get the sledding season underway and included a two-heat sprint event and solo and team relays. Hats off to all competitors, especially those who ran the solo relay; your efforts were truly inspiring.
The Collie Classic, held in July, was scheduled to be a two-heat sprint event. However, the rain on Saturday night saw temperatures increase, and the decision to cancel heat one was made. Canicross and Pee Wees managed to get their runs in before the temperatures rose.
This meant everything was riding on Sunday morning’s runs, and with the help of our excellent competitors and volunteers, the heats were completed as scheduled.
Congratulations to all mushers and dogs for a great weekend.
We wish those heading to South Australia for Nationals all the best for safe travelling and great runs.
We look forward to seeing you at other events in WA this year and hope to see you all back in 2023.
